Out of reach from mainland shores –
where politics and money churn –
known to he who oars or soars
and lands or lands on land, in turn.

Unsheltered from the summer storms
or shaded from the burning sun,
it wets, it cracks, it breaks, it forms,
but moves for none. Not an inch. Not one.
